Muddled Musings

she's back.

The plastic bag lady has snuck into the church every day for the last 2 weeks, at least twice a day. Today, she was especially daring-- she stopped stealing bagels and upped her culinary tastes to include bacon. Not satisfied with the bacon, she asked me for the cheese I was in the process of eating. I think she put another bag in her mouth. It looks fresher-- not quite as mangled and chewed up. I'm not sure how she eats. She only has one tooth (that has rotted and nearly fallen out) and her mouth is full of plastic bag. If she can't eat, I see no reason for her to be stealing our food.

She's got to eat some how. Think of it as... 1.) A chance to help an angel in disguise 2.) A great tax write-off 3.) A really good chance to pull a prank by making her some pudding with laxatives in it- won't she be surprised. J/k

But seriously, I'm beginning to suspect that this bag lady is really your alter-ego. Instead of suppressing her, let her free.

Guys...for real...I don't know what to do! I know we are supposed to feed the hungry-- but even when there is a safety risk to the youth involved? There are more appropriate ways for her to get help and support than through our bagels and bacon, I think...
As for security...trust me...RA instincts have kicked in; but too many people have too many keys to this place and are forever unlocking doors every where!!!!

Wow, Ann, "this is a toughy. You are in a pickle. This is hard." That's a Will Farrel speach from Old School. I thought it might help.

The answer is a clearly Canadian solution from a polite Canadian viewpoint....

Shoot her.

Oh wait. Those are my American Instincts talking. Excuse me, I have to go declare a jihad on Iraq in the name of Democracy.

Sorry Ann - I was trying to think of something helpful to write except that I couldn't stop laughing at Rosie's post...

I hope Sara can help with a solution!

Hmmm...best of luck with that. Can this bag lady communicate or is she one of those half crazy transients? You could always just ask her what she wants, why she keeps coming by and ask her to leave if you don't want her there...if she's someone that could be dealt with reasonably. If not, you could always get that biker minister you told me about to deal with her or, as someone else said, shoot her;) Take care...still praying for ya...
