i love t-dot.
I love the fringe society. Today a street person (and friend) gave me a bottle of water-- cold water-- for no reason. On the streets, water is a precious, precious commodity. In the summer, you won't die of starvation-- you'll die of dehydration. I need to start taking lessons on generosity and sacrificial love from my friend. I wish I knew his name. He knows mine.
Besides drinking water (no alcoholic beverages until August 7 for me since I signed a contract), I had the most glorious weekend ever. Mostly because I ate fresh cherries from the outdoor fruit market across the road while I sauntered down the streets of Toronto with my staff. And because I bought lots of sweat-shop-free clothes and some thrift shop pants. And because I had a picnic while watching a Shakespeare play (A Comedy of Errors).
It ended with me accidentally throwing my purse into the washing machine (it was hidden under 4 industrial-washer-sized loads of laundry) . Unfortunately my cell phone was also in that purse. Oh well. C'est la vie.

I hear that your parents also came to visit you this weekend!:)
ann! are you free this weekend? i'd like to come visit you...maybe friday night to saturday? more fair trade/thrift store shopping??
Yeah, Ann--FRINGE society. I'm in the middle of a love-hate relationship with fringe society...
But I think I'm thinking of a different thing than you're talking about.
Great to hear you've drunk when appropriate... and did you see "comedy of Erors" in the park, per chance?

(I need to sleep... my comments keep becoming more scattereder... scatterlogical... Take care Ann!)
sounds so romantic...and sometimes i wish i could sign a contract to drink no alcohol just to force me to completely cleanse my body. but then i think about it harder and that would be awful. but good for you for doing it!
Ann, pretty much i love you!
ann dear, when are you done?
Oh, Ann. I hadn't read your blog in awhile.
Your life is interesting.
Toronto sounds very different than Sunnyside. But fresh cherries are great anywhere- there are a lot of cherry orchards here.
Sounds like you are doing a great job despite your purse, the passports, fire alarm, etc.
cell phones... who needs them anyway? they take over your life and interrupt at all the wrong moments... i love being cellphone free...
luuk is getting me one when i'm in holland. so much for that. :p
yay for cherries!
and when you can finally drink, have one for me!
miss you anita!
hello ann~
I'm simply leaving a comment because it seems the ratio of females to males in this comment section is sorely in the favor of the ladies. That, and I just figured out where your blog was. Looks good so far, though. Canadian and not drinking? That's what I call self-denial.
